Antonin Aviat became Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs at the French Embassy in the United States in September 2021.
Prior to that, from 2018 to 2021, he was the Deputy Director of Diagnosis and Forecasts for the General Directorate of the Treasury of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Recovery. An economist by training, he was charged with developing growth forecasts for France, the Euro zone and its main partners.
He also successively headed the “Economic and Monetary Union” offices from 2013 to 2016, followed by the office responsible for summarizing public finances from 2016 to 2018.
He is the author of a comparative study on the links between wealth and consumption in France and the United States, as well as articles dealing with economic policy, financial macroeconomics and international trade (Journal of International Economics, Economic policy).
Antonin Aviat is a graduate of the Paris School of Economics, the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales and ENSAE.
